My Instagrammer’s Guide To Brighton is in 91 Magazine!

You know me; I absolutely love writing, Brighton and supporting small,  creative businesses, so when I was tasked with penning (or shall I say typing) an Instagrammer’s Guide to Brighton for indie homeware and lifestyle title, 91 Magazine, I jumped at the chance!

On a side note, 91 Magazine is one of my fave reads and is especially worth having a nice cuppa with if you’re a maker or own a physical or digital store, as it’s full of lovely people and things! It’s a mag worth reaching out to, too, y’know if you’re thinking about your own PR, as they’re so supportive of makers and shopkeepers.

Anyway back to me (!).. I’m pleased to say that the guide is now live and can be viewed here > https://91magazine.co.uk/blog/2018/3/14/an-instagrammers-guide-to-brighton, so go feast your  eyes and lose yourself in the loveliness of as many of Brighton’s most beautiful spots as I could squeeze into one article! I’ll see you over there.

Just Launched: Content Planning & Creation Sessions

A few months ago, I was asked by a potential client if I could sit with her to get all of her ideas that she’d had for her social media and blog content out of her head and down on paper – for us to be able to plan and, here’s the killer thing – actually write them, rather than stay swirling around in her mind, while she focused, on y’know; running her actual biz.

Since then, I’ve had other clients approach me asking for similar sessions and as I’ve loved doing them so much, I’m pleased to say that I’ve just launched three different options, for a variety of needs and budgets.

My Power Hours, Let’s Do It and Content Queen sessions (two hours, four hours and a full day) focus on idea generation and getting those social media and/or blog posts written and PR campaigns planned, perfected and D-O-N-E.

These sessions can be one-offs or as regular as you’d like – all depending on preference and how much content you’d like to get out there. For example, one client has booked me for six full day sessions – which will see us working together one day a month for six months, in essence; creating six months’ worth of content! Not bad for one day a month, eh?

Feel free to check out my new Content Sessions page and drop me a line if you’d like to chat about how we could make these work for you. I’m already excited to get cracking!

Of course, if you have any other ideas for sessions/ workshops that you’d like me to run, tell me and they might just happen!

Another PR, Social Media & Content Workshop – Back By Demand!

Last month I super-excitedly (and a little bit nervously, I can’t lie!) held my first group workshop at gorgeous pop-up shop The Stanley Road Store in Fiveways.

The evening saw nine fabulous Brighton-based women in biz get together to learn my top tips for shouting about their businesses on social media, on their website and to publications, in an authentic, non-cringe, way. We also drank fizz, ate chocolate and had honest conversations about what was working for us marketing-wise, with helpful advice shared by everyone. I LOVED it.

While the event was taking place, a few others mentioned on Instagram that they’d love to come to the next one… and so, I was absolutely delighted that the superwoman that is Maxine (founder of The Stanley Road Store and talented babe behind Lost & Foundry) asked me to host another workshop next month.

The date is set for Wednesday 6th December (7-9pm), so please come along, if you’d like to learn how to:

  • Use social media effectively for your unique business.
  • Develop your tone to connect with potential customers, other creatives and influencers.
  • Authentically tell your story to bloggers and press.
  • Connect with publications who get YOU and your quirky products/ services.
  • Create a content plan for blogs, social media and PR.
  • In a nutshell; feel armed with the knowledge to plan your PR world domination (without feeling cringey!).

The workshop will be held at The Stanley Road Store Pop-Up Shop, 132 Preston Drove, Fiveways, Brighton.

New Workshop: How To Shout About Your Small Biz – A Social Media & PR Workshop for Creative Business Owners

I’m super-duper excited to announce that I’m going to be running a workshop at the gorgeous Stanley Road Store – an award-winning Artists Open House and now pop up shop, headed up by megababe Maxine Michaelides of Lost & Foundry fame.

The idea for the workshop, which aims to shake the fear, creative business owners and freelancers have about shouting about what they do, was hatched during a 1-2-1 session I held with Maxine over the summer.

After spending a day with Max, plotting her world domination, she asked if I’d like to run a bigger workshop, where biz owners could get together, learn tricks of the trade and leave feeling confident to crack on with their own PR, social media and web content. It was a big YES from me and now here we are, with just over a week to go!

So, what’s it about and what will you learn?

In this whistle-stop workshop, I’ll be teaching you how to:

  • Use social media effectively for your unique business.
  • Develop your tone to connect with potential customers, other creatives and influencers.
  • Authentically tell your story to bloggers and press.
  • Connect with publications who get YOU and your quirky products/ services.
  • Create a content plan for blogs, social media and PR.
  • In a nutshell; feel armed with the knowledge to plan your PR world domination (without feeling cringey!).

How To Shout About Your Small Biz – A Social Media & PR Workshop for Creative Business Owners takes place on Wednesday 1st November, 7pm-9pm at The Stanley Road Store Pop-Up Shop, 132 Preston Drove, Fiveways, Brighton.

Hope to see you there!

Lovely New Web Copy for Lavender Blue Photography

Where has February gone? It might have been the shortest month of the year, but it’s been a busy one here!

One of my favourite projects from this month has to be working on natural wedding and family photographer, Lavender Blue Photography‘s website content.

I met Kirsty for coffee just a few days after jetting back after our honeymoon, early this month and quickly felt my jet-lag deteriorate, moving over for excitement about taking on her website re-write.

Kirsty wanted friendly web copy that represented her stunning photography and the relaxed, unobtrusive service she offers. Now just a few weeks later, the Lavender Blue Photography website has been re-designed and the new copy is now live – doesn’t it look fabulous?

Here it is. About time too!

Ta-dah! Welcome to my website. You’d think that someone who’s worked in marketing for years (and who has had their own business for four years!) should have had their stuff together and their website live AGES ago, right? Yes, I know, I know. But I do have an good excuse (sort of).

Fortunately, I’ve been so busy; due to repeat clients and recommendations that I’ve never needed – or had dedicated time – to put together my own website. But, as I’m meeting more and more amazing businesses and babes in biz, it’s getting beyond silly that I haven’t been able to direct potentially interested clientele to my services or just connect with them online.

So, here it is! Hopefully you find all the info you might need on how I can help you with any PR, social media and copywriting needs. Don’t forget that I also run 1-2-1 workshops too, where we can spend a whole day together to plot and plan your world domination. Or y’know just focus on an area or two (be it how to write effective press releases, what to be posting on social media or what sort of blogs will be most interesting for your clients).

Of course, there’s nothing quite like a good old fashioned chin-wag, so if you fancy having a natter, just give me a call: 07907 141 420.

Wishing you a lovely Christmas, filled with fun, good food and fizz!
